All international debit and credit cards work in India in most places. However, to be best prepared, we suggest bringing $1000 cash for urgent needs or buying items in smaller villages. You can exchange your dollars at major banks, airports, and a few shops. The local currency is INR/Indian Rupee.

We have local doctors and hospitals that we can take you to and travelers can purchase travel insurance before their trip to add to their peace of mind.

Yes, we highly recommend that you purchase both international travel and health insurance in advance, or check with your insurance company.

Yes, millions of people travel to India yearly. Gypsy Ātman trips are a safe space for you. They are guided trips with our founder Riri Patel leading each one.

We will send a packing list when you sign up. Please keep in mind that modest clothing is advised (no short shorts or tank tops). A head scarf is recommended to be worn while visiting holy places.

Weather varies significantly per region and season. Once you sign up for your retreat, we can give you a detailed weather analysis. Do keep in mind that in the mountains the weather can be unpredictable! Your packing list will include suggestions for layers to bring.

Any personal medication that you need can be carried along with a valid written prescription. We also recommend that you carry a basic first aid kit with medications for the flu, headaches, fever, etc.

Our trip will mostly serve pure, vegetarian, balanced meals. If you have any diet restrictions or food allergies, please consult with us prior to signing up. We will do our best to accomodate you.

We have a strict no drug and alcohol policy, and we have zero tolerance towards any who break the rule on the trip. The purpose of the trip is to detox. If local brews are provided on the trip it is strictly from a therapeutic viewpoint.

A tourist visa is required to enter. We encourage you to apply at least 1 month in advance and your passport needs to be valid for 6 months from your date of travel. For additional information please visit: https://www.in.ckgs.us/

Photography is prohibited at some airports, bridges, and other transport buildings. Please be mindful while photographing people and always request permission.

The main towns and villages have WiFi, but remote villages do not. We however encourage you to restrict your gadget use. The purpose of the trip is to disconnect.

A non-refundable confirmation deposit of $500 is required at the time of booking to secure your space. Half of the remaining payment is required within 7 days of booking and the remainder is due 60 days before your departure date.

We accept cancellations only in extreme emergencies, with approval from the Gypsy Ātman team.
