Due to Spiti’s remoteness, you will be obliged to disconnect from your frantic, digital life. During this time of “disconnection,” you will connect with the local people and with your passions – be it cooking, meditating, writing, or photography. This region is between India and Tibet and you will travel through breathtaking landscapes dotted with llama herds, mountain ranges, and frozen lakes. It is so magical that you will think it is the Land of Fairies, which is a perfect backdrop for detoxing from social media and its accompanying fast-paced lifestyle.
Currently, there is a new trend of dopamine fasting. With this retreat in Spiti, you would be able to get in some excellent practice of this because you won’t have much internet access. You will be living minimally and eating consciously. The journey itself starts in Shimla, which is full of traditional British architecture. You will get a glimpse of pre-independent India and receive unique history lessons on our trips to the local establishments.
After this, you will travel through unexplored regions that are still considered tribal lands and have a blend of different Indian cultures. We will visit villages, tour a local farm, try a hand-knitting workshop taught by local artisans, enjoy locally sourced food, and visit landmarks, such as the world’s highest post office.
If you want to disconnect from your day-to-day life, cell phones, and social media, this retreat is for you. You will finish this trip filled to the brim with contentment.
