Take a dip at the holy waters of The Ganges
Located amongst the Himalayan foothills, Rishikesh has stunning panoramas of the Ganges river. These contemplative views have attracted spiritual seekers to Rishikesh for millennia – most famously, The Beatles. If you are interested in immersing yourself in yoga and meditation, you could not find a more restorative, serene place to focus on cultivating your inner wellbeing. From the sacred temples to chanting classes to evening aarti, you will be given endless opportunities to forge deeper connections with your surroundings and more importantly within your inner self (ātman).
Our Rishikesh retreat is focused on Ayurveda, spirituality, yoga, and healing. Rishikesh is close to airports and easily accessible; it’s also suitable for those who can’t manage high altitudes. You’ll have a chance to practice yoga and meditation on the banks of the Ganges River. We’ll tour local farms to taste the fresh food right from the earth, and take Ayurveda cooking classes to learn the principles of this healthy way of eating. The locals grow their own organic vegetables and serve them in the organic cafes that dot the streets. We’ll also visit ancient temples and experience the mystical energy surrounding this magical region of India. We practice seva (a Sanskrit word for the practice of selfless service) in this retreat by helping the local children have access to free education, medical care, and a safe home where they’re surrounded by people who love them. We’ll be engaging our guests in community work such as cultural and educational activities with the beautiful children’s home which is very dear to Gypsy Ātman’s heart. We do this to share our love and light and to give back unconditionally.
